Html tags are used to explain how the appearance of a certain page should be, and when you open a tag you nned to closed it and the importance of tags are eaither to create or modify the appaerance of an element.

Text tags
Text tags are used to create the type of text that you want we have headings ranging from one to six and we have paragraphs.
For heading as I have said is from H1 to H6 like this.
<h1>This is head H1</h1>
<h2>This is head H2</h2>
<h3>This is head H3</h3>
<h4>This is head H4</h4>
<h5>This is head H5</h5>
<h6>This is head H6</h6>
And then we have a paragraph which uses <P> tag like this
<p>This is a paragraph </p>

Formating tags
We have formating tags also which are used to formate the appearance of a text or even modify it and we have examples of theses tags as.
<i> for italising text
<b> for bolding text
<u> for Underlinning text
<strong> for increasing the thickness of a text
